A Secret for a Secret (All In, #3)

A Secret for a Secret

by Helena Hunting
Series: All In, #3
Genre: Sports, Contemporary Romance
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

MY REVIEW

"Kingston is just a guy. So I’ve been naked with him. Big deal."

Okay, out of the three books in this series this felt by far the heaviest. And I mean it in a sense that these characters really run deep. Yes, deeper than his hot dog on her doughnut.

Family drama, personality issues, self doubt? It's all in this book. Golden boy meets his match and oh how he loves to prove he is perfect without even saying!

The fact that these characters are way out of your expectations, especially personality wise, just makes the book so entertaining! I keep thinking about what I said on the previous review I put up for the previous installment and I don't remember ever feeling this light at the same time affected with how the heroine held her own.

Day and Night, Yes and No, Black and White. That's exactly how different they are. IN ALL SENSE. Ooh but opposites really do attract, don't they? If you ask them to take the test of compatibility, I doubt it would say they are a match or even 40% matched! Queenie is an emotional mess and Kingston is a responsible good boy. Two personalities that is not even on the same line but has a chemistry that could burst a bulb!

MY REVIEW

"Sometimes, the person you think you know best, is the one you know least."

Main thing is we could never really ask our hearts to find someone else.

This is your best friends to lovers romance that would definitely grab your attention cause they started out really cute just be prepared to go through it.

Not gonna lie, I was no where near expecting it to end. I knew I was close to the end but at this point I would've wanted it to have a second part. Here I am again left unsatisfied 🙄

That 200 something pages was just stretched. This could've been like a hundred pages books and it would not have been a waste. I'm just really frustrated cause this types are like wayyy up to my top 5 but I'm very much left to fend for myself. It was seriously really good. I mean the second part going through the end might've happened like a flash but it was seriously going good.

Wylde

by Sawyer Bennett
Series: Arizona Vengeance #7
Genre: Sports, Contemporary Romance
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

MY REVIEW

"This is probably fated for disaster. But I like you, Clarke."

Clearly, "fame clearly isn't everything" - I can just hear Professor Snape saying thing over and over again in my head after I finished reading the book.

Oddly the book was not as intense as I expected it to be. I don't even know why I expected intensity when, let's be real here, I have not read any books in this series so I really have no room to judge. I have Dominik's book just sitting here with me and I somehow just didn't know how I missed reading it. Anyways, I figured at the end of reading Wylde that the whole reason I got the book in the first place was because of the blurb. Honestly, it sounded intense and so good to me.

They are like worlds apart but they ultimately have something in common that makes their bond possibly stronger is part of the compatibility formula.

Naughty Boss

by Whitney G.
Series:  Steamy Coffee Collection #1
Genre: Novella, Contemporary Romance
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

MY REVIEW

"Are you going to give me a chance to be nice or are you going to spend the night acting like we're at the office?"

That's one hot Novella!

You know, if there was anything that I love other than sports romance and second chances? It's these heroes in Suit that could make me bend my knees and pray they were real!

The energy in this whole read was so intense I feel like I could freaking touch it with my bare hands! The little epilogue though was short but cute! I wished for a little more background with their relationship but it wasn't really necessary as their chemistry was already on point and telling some time later! It was the emails that did me. Hilarious and somewhat serious. Also, that was some INTENSE scenes! I literally fanned myself! I have no other words for Mya but strong and sometimes clumsy. Michael is everything!

Feisty

by Julia Kent
Series: Do-Over #3
Genre: Contemporary Romance
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

MY REVIEW

"Everything is changing. Everyone is changing. Everyone but me."

Lets see, this has romance in it, quirky banter, a whole lot of unexpected sweetness and intense innuendos plus it also comes with humor? Get out!

There were a lot of parts where I giggled, laughed out loud and chuckled. This book was a complete delight. I love it. I can't help but feel like I lucked out on this one. I am so happy I got the book. It wasn't the best but it was definitely worth reading. To be honest, I have not read the other books in this series but I got absolutely hooked in this one!

Also, could this book pass as chick lit? I think it does because the POV is only the heroine's and it has that absolute relief at the end. No major conflict but multiple confusions towards the heroine's feelings and personal issues were everywhere!

The Teaching Hours

by Sara Ney
Series: How to Date a Douchebag, #5.5
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Genre: New Adult, Novella

MY REVIEW

"First lesson in dealing with a guy: they don’t see anything in gray—it’s usually either black or white, so best get to the point. Guys don’t think like you do, so make it simple."

I loved this series. Admittedly I didn't read all of them but I've read most. Everything about Rex has become a blur to me but I vaguely remember him being mentioned in the previous installments. Hannah was also slightly introduced in the previous installment and I remembered having a love-hate judgement with her but in this Novella, she sounded like a really strong-willed and level-headed woman. But she got some attitude. Rex, he was just being a guy and very straightforward which was what I loved about him most.

Sweet and Quick! Doesn't satisfy my hunger to have more from my series but makes it up some how.

Save The Date

by Monica Murphy
Series: Dating #1
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Genre: Chick Lit, Contemporary Romance

MY REVIEW

It's barely a second chance romance. It's more like, how about we see what we could have been if we happened?

It's like a blast from the past but you were really young so you barely remember anything and now that it's back in your life you were thinking how did you not see what it could have been if you did anything about it?

First, It has been quite a while since I last read a good chick lit. I actually picked this book up awhile back and it just got stuffed in the back so when I came back to read the blurb again, I realized why I even picked it up. Chick Lit Romances always always has that feel good ending which at some point is what we always look for especially after reading some other genres with serious tones, angst or something that would drive our emotional sense to a roller coaster.

Not settling for less does not only apply to the ladies. If you want to know what I mean then get on with reading this one!

I'm telling you right now, this is one of the best that I've read this year! Bad time right person, right time wrong place and all the FEELS!

description

I could honestly just go on and on about this book. My emotions were everywhere! I loved how Cory just doesn't want to settle for less, I love that THEY HAVE A THING after their date and that Cory's good guy persona is just about to make me ball out and cry.

Mister TonightMister Tonight by Kendall Ryan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Type: Stand Alone

MY REVIEW

I'm so sorry but oh my god, this is the first one that I did not get to finish this year and I feel like I should be disappointed in myself.

Now do not get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE Kendall Ryan from the Filthy Beautiful series to Hot Jocks but there will really be days when you really don't get connected with the books you read.

MY REVIEW

You know what Passion is but, how important is Passion? And how exactly does it differ from your occupation, hobby and entire love life? This showed me passion in a whole other level that's for sure.

First of all, what a cute little epilogue! I was all for it! The main thing that really drew me in on reading it was the fact that each character has a heavy story that I could not wait to discover. I love mysterious H and h's, it never fails to intrigue me every time the blurb is far from the story when I actually start reading.

“But I’m hooked on him, not because of what he is or how much he can spoil me. It’s because of who he is. Who I am when I’m with him. Who we are together.”

The best part for me is how this showed me some parts of how gambling works. I am not really the kind of girl who jumps into the Vegas scene very much and I barely tolerate underground gambling as well so I was overwhelmed with information on how a player thinks and what I found with Cullen, he was remarkably mysterious. Now, I already mentioned in my review of Womanizer that Callan was mysterious but with Cullen, He was three times as mysterious.

MY REVIEW

Mysterious brothers best friend? Check. Level headed best friend's sister? Double Check.
Let me just start with the fact that I've bought this book and it has been on my shelf for like YEARS. It wasn't until the other day that I decided to read all my untouched books because I was really getting crazy with what was going on with the world. I checked out the blurb and I was like 'that sounds like what I want to read right now, let me pull that' and then I found out that I also had a copy of the 5th book in this installment. I was just sold. Dating a brother's best friend is a to die for plots for me so I just went for it.

MY REVIEW

There is nothing better than picturing a hockey player in just nothing but a boxer briefs!

It was like barely being able to stand each other to can't get over one another type of feeling. This went from being nobody to somebody real smoothly. What actually makes these types of books absolutely indulging is the banter. Especially when they are intense once. This is not my first Helena Hunting book and surprise-surprise; this is not my first 5-stars rating for her either. Basically, everything I've read from her was all a 5-stars and that is because every book she writes is worth the read!

That was a hell of a strong chemistry right off their first meeting. Honestly, the only reason why I kept on reading was because I really liked Stevie's Character. The best part would probably all the times this hero wore his boxers. I mean, there were those intense therapy times and all those pizza orders but I just about loose it when they have their stand-offs with Bishop in just boxers. I lived for it.

🧐 My Review  🧐

Have you heard about fromance? No? Then you need to read this book to know all about it. Best friends to lovers romance with really cute initiatives from both ends.

Fromance, it was the best thing I've ever taken from this book so cheers to that.

The best friends to lovers story lines are on my top five favorites and I must say that after reading the previous books from this series, it was not what I expected. My expectation was actually way, way up there because for the love of god, the previous book 'Pucked Up Love' was impressive to me. It was like a step up from the 4th installment only to take two steps down when we got to the 6th one. Maybe the last book in this series did a number on me that's why I feel bad for not overly rejoicing after reading this one.
