Book Overview
Willa can’t erase the bad decisions of her past that led her down the path she’s on now. But she can fight for forgiveness from her family. And she can protect herself by refusing to let anyone else get close to her.
High school quarterback and town golden boy Brady used to be the best of friends with Willa—she even had a crush on him when they were kids. But that’s all changed now: her life choices have made her a different person from the girl he used to know.
Gunner used to be friends with Willa and Brady, too. He too is larger than life and a high school football star—not to mention that his family basically owns the town of Lawton. He loves his life, and doesn’t care about anyone except himself. But Willa is the exception—and he understands the girl she’s become in a way no one else can.
As secrets come to light and hearts are broken, these former childhood friends must face the truth about growing up and falling in love…even if it means losing each other forever.
My Review
I could not believe
I actually went against my instincts this time. I have only read a handful of
love triangles in my life because I did not like that kind of plot in any way,
shape or form. But, I do not know what got to me and what is the main reason why
I actually wanted to read this book. I've read the first installment just
recently and I thought it was borderline okay.
I have no doubt in
my mind, when I was just a few chapters in the book, on who would be the hero
Willa chooses and I was not let down. Everything about this book was explosive
and I think that was the reason why I wanted to read this so bad. As I have said
before, I kind of grown out of Abbi's books but with this book I was constantly
bombarded by surprises and unexpected revelations. I loved it.
The characters, the
love, the history, the family and the attitudes did me in and there is no doubt
now that I will be reading the next installment cause I am terribly intrigued.

My Review
I wasn't able to
take notes because I thought the book was too cute to even pause. Though I
didn't really need to take notes because the book itself for me had less to no
flaws at all. Yes, for some it might've been a little too obvious as to who the
secret guy was but to me, I was a bit skeptical. Maybe that was it, maybe
that's exactly what lure me in and made me what to finish the book all the way.
So secret guy and
Lily live a different life. As in so so different even I had a hard time
thinking if they could really make their relationship worthwhile because one,
Lily lives around chaos and the life she lived in was fun and crazy whilst
Mystery guy lives a rich life with a distant parent he wants nothing but to
reach out to.
The friendship in
this book was admirable. It was too strong and it felt raw. Like there are
actually friends like Isabel out there in the world who are selfless and
understanding. All through out the book it was obvious to me that their
friendship was stronger than anything else because not many friends are willing
to give way and support their friends when they both want the same thing. Or
she used to.
The book all in all
is absolutely worth the time, penny and I regretted holding it off for a few
days thinking that it might not click with me. Kasie is a new author for me and
she made an absolutely great first impression. I recommend this book to all readers
of all genre and to all ears who'd listen to me rant about it. YA's are such a
refreshing read. I know this now.

My Review
Reading this book was solely for compliance purposes. I found the second book of this series, found out that it is about to come out this month and I kind of didn't want to read the next installment before I read this one. Now I have done the skipping phase before. There were times I've read the third book without even opening the first or second book. I only read the books that has the description that would suck me in. It really doesn't matter to me who the author is, If the description did not appeal to me, I'm not reading the book.
I've read some of Abbi Glines' book before. The rosemary and sea breeze series in particular and some others but in those series I failed to read the rest of the installment. I stopped at some point because the story line became kind of familiar and the characters kind of become similar. It was like the installments of the series were just written for the sake of each character to have a story and even though I know the writing would be good I still opted to not read the rest. I don't really know why I'm surprised at all when I finished reading this book. After all, Abbi always get my sweet young heart swoon every time and this book in particular, I can't help but say I've fallen. I forgot how great and sweet and oh so lovable YA romance could be.
The book is good. West and Maggie were good. There were a lot of cute moments that was enough for me to feel something. But, once again, the book felt familiar. I also found so many things that didn't sit well with me. It was cute how West could just lean on to Maggie for support but the way I see it, it is indeed some kind of an obsession. Also, the way West is coping and how he is just an asshole was a little annoying to me because then he would get protective which is not on the right time. Then there's Maggie. I need more from her, not just some background story. I want to be able to see her because she is still transparent to me. The way her story was told felt like there was something missing. I'm perfectly partial to the book and I feel like the rating I'm giving it is accurate. I can't wait to actually read the next installment. I'm waiting on it.
